The Maison Européenne de la Photographie is an important center for photographic art in Paris. It is located in the 4th arrondissement of Paris, and was inaugurated in 1996. It is located in a Hotel Particulier (former private residence) from the beginning of the 18th century, an example of French neoclassical architecture. It is home to a rich permanent collection, arranged over three floors of the structure. You can see works by famous photographers such as Hanri Cartier-Bressom, Maria Giacomelli, Robert Frank, Édouard Boubat and many others. It is an important exhibition center for temporary exhibitions. Furthermore, inside there are a library, a video library and an auditorium, as well as a specific library. It is also the seat of conferences and series of films in relation to temporary exhibitions. It also includes a research center specializing in preserving the heritage of the libraries, archives and museums of the municipality of Paris.
