The Cité des sciences et de industrie is a cultural complex in Paris. It is located inside the Parc de la Villette, in the 19th arrondissement. Aimed at the dissemination of scientific and technical culture to finalize the interest in citizens for issues related to science, research and industry, the Cité des sciences et de industrie offers its visitors permanent and temporary exhibitions, shows, animations , parks and paths for children (Cité des enfants), debates and conferences. Inside there is also a multimedia library, an auditorium used for conferences and the planetarium, among the largest in the world. The center of the Cité is very large and divided into various areas. In the "explora" area of the large complex it is possible to visit the permanent exhibitions. These are usually focused on topics such as math, sound, light show, space, ocean, energy and much more. The complex on which the Cité stands was an old slaughterhouse. The desire to transform it into a science museum was already manifested in 1980, and the project was officially carried out in 1986.
