From 16 November to 4 May 2025
The exhibition Bruno De Toffoli. The Spatialist Adventure takes inspiration from an important group of works from the collection of the Alberto Peruzzo Foundation linked to Spatialism, while also aiming to enhance the value of a significant artistic figure from the region, Bruno De Toffoli. A student of Arturo Martini in Venice and co-signer with Fontana of the Manifesto of Spatialism for television in 1952, he made a significant contribution to the history of Italian art at that time.
Curated by Luca Massimo Barbero, the exhibition focuses on nine sculptures by De Toffoli created during the 1950s, coming from the Intesa Sanpaolo Collection, and on an album of unpublished drawings executed by the artist between 1965 and 1968, which will be shown to the public for the first time here. The exhibition in the Sacristy is complemented by a dialogue with works from the Foundation's Collection including Dadamaino, Fontana, Vedova, Tàpies, and Bonalumi. In particular, a pink Spatial Concept from 1968 serves as an ideal bridge between the three-dimensional sculptures in the Nave and the drawings exhibited in the Sacristy.
