Located in the Hôtel Cabu, one of the major Renaissance palaces in the city, the historical and archaeological museum of Rouen preserves a rich collection of ancient artifacts, including the so-called Treasury of Neuvy-en-Souillas, an exceptional collection of bronze statuettes from the Gallic and Gallo-Roman. Inaugurated in 1823, in addition to the aforementioned treasure, the collection also preserves various medieval architectural elements from ancient buildings in the city and the surrounding area, in particular the stuccoes of the Carolingian oratory of Germigny-des-Prés and the capitals of the Abbey of San- Benoît-sur-Loire; finally, the museum traces the history of the city of Orléans, with particular attention to the episodes relating to Joan of Arc.
