The Naples Sea Museum is located inside the “Duca degli Abruzzi” Nautical Institute on the Naples seafront.

The Museo del Mare was established in 1992 and represents the only museum dedicated to the sea in Naples . The rich museum collection includes a collection of unique volumes on the evolution of the Neapolitan navy . Numerous donations from public and private bodies followed which enriched the Museum's collection.

The Sea Museum is divided into four thematic rooms: the ship collections, the marine machinery collection, the navigation equipment collection and finally the radio and radio navigation equipment collection. Each section houses models, measuring instruments , precious texts on naval architecture and geography , models of machines and navigation equipment .

The Museum acts as a promoter for study and research activities , temporary exhibitions , educational workshops and cultural events for the enhancement of the museum . The Memory Project was recently born, which aims to recall the roots and rediscover the historical identity of the city.
