It is the portrait of Lucina Brembati by Lorenzo Lotto (1521 - ca. 1523), a masterpiece of the Accademia Carrara in Bergamo, the new 'guest' of the Museum and Royal Park of Capodimonte (October 2 - January 6). After Courbet, Rubens, Baglione, Carracci, and Caravaggio (the exhibition of the Ecce Homo found in Madrid continues until November 2 next to the Flagellation), a new appointment with the series of precious exhibitions that bring together works that are milestones in art history with the heritage of Capodimonte.

The famous portrait of the elegant gentlewoman from Bergamo, whose identity was discovered by historians solving an enigma contained in the painting, will be exhibited in room 61 (on the second floor of the museum) along with masterpieces from the Farnese collection of Capodimonte, chosen precisely because they testify to the fashion and costume of that period, opulent and full of meaning.

The arrival in Naples of the Bergamasca Guest is also the occasion to present a new series of meetings entitled 'Capodimonte is in fashion - Paths in the history of costume' that will host until December 2025 three of the leading international scholars on the history of jewelry, fur, fabrics, and women's clothing of the 16th century.
