From 22 December to 24 April 2022
"Enrico Caruso - From Naples to New York" is the exhibition that celebrates the centenary of the death of the great tenor, the first modern media star and representative of Italian emigration, capable of preserving and innovating the traditions of the show with a significant impact on the US media . Curated by Giuliana Muscio, a scholar of the contribution of Italian artists to the American show business, the exhibition is located in the 'new arm' of the museum.
The exhibition features over 250 photographic images from the Metropolitan Opera Archive in New York, the Caruso Collection at the Peabody Institute (Johns Hopkins) in Baltimore and the Enrico Caruso museum in Villa Bellosguardo in Lastra a Signa. It is possible to find not only vintage audiovisual material and newsreels, provided for the occasion by the American archives and the Setti fund of the Ansaldo Foundation, but also original audio recordings of the record production of the most famous tenor of all time.
