The Galerie Poirel is an exhibition space in Nancy dedicated to contemporary art. Together with the Salle Poirel, a concert hall and live music, it forms the Poirel Ensemble, a place of fundamental culture for the city of Nancy. The Poirel Ensemble was built at the end of the 19th century by Poirel spouses and art lovers, with an avant-garde cultural program for the time, establishing itself as a center for contemporary creation. The Galerie Poirel is configured as a place that manages to bring together optimal space and light conditions. It was used by the Nancy school as early as 1894, with the manifesto exhibition of the movement. In 1926 it welcomed the exhibitions of the great surrealist artists and then, from 1935 to 1959, the Corbin collection of decorative art. Today, the space continues to be an important exhibition space for decorative, contemporary and design art exhibitions.
