Fondazione Modena Arti Visive is a center for cultural production and professional training aimed at spreading contemporary art and visual culture, and positioning itself as a reference point in the interaction between different artistic disciplines and languages, as well as in the dialogue between arts, science, and technologies.

Thanks to the multiple locations it manages and by inheriting the legacy of the three institutions that merged into it - Galleria Civica di Modena, Fondazione Fotografia di Modena, Museo della Figurina - Fondazione Modena Arti Visive presents itself as a cultural district that offers and organizes exhibitions and high-level training courses, workshops, performances, and conferences, enhancing its heritage and building a network system at a local and extraterritorial level aimed at enriching the community in which it operates. Located in one of the most important streets in the historic center of Modena, Palazzo Santa Margherita, whose name derives from the church that once stood in this area, hosts, in addition to Fondazione Modena Arti Visive - which since October 2017 has absorbed Galleria Civica and Museo della Figurina that were based here - also other cultural services such as the Biblioteca Delfini and the Istituto Musicale Orazio Vecchi. Access to the rooms of Fondazione Modena Arti Visive is gained by going up to the first floor where the Sala Grande is located. Continuing to the left, you access the staircase leading to the Upper Rooms on the second floor. At the same level, part of the photography collections and the drawing and graphic collection managed today by Fondazione Modena Arti Visive are also located, which scholars and enthusiasts can view by appointment. If you continue in the opposite direction from the Sala Grande, passing the ticket office and bookshop, you access the staircase leading to the Sala Figurine, a large space set up with displays designed as large albums to browse through and a 12-meter showcase. On the same floor, the Museo della Figurina collection can also be consulted by appointment, established starting from the donation of Giuseppe Panini. At Palazzo Santa Margherita, there are also two workshops that Fondazione Modena Arti Visive makes available for activities dedicated to children and teenagers.
