The Mudima Foundation, founded and directed by Gino Di Maggio, is the first Italian foundation set up for contemporary art. It was born in 1989 with the aim of creating an international articulated program in visual art, music and literature. The Mudima Foundation has organized various personal exhibitions of artists of great international importance in the exhibition space, such as: Yoko Ono, Marcel Duchamp, Piero Manzoni, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Giuseppe Chiari and many others. The Foundation has also created temporary exhibitions in collaboration with the Venice Biennale, we recall the 1990 edition. One of the objectives pursued by the Foundation is to intensify the relationship between Italy and the countries of the Far East. Proof of this are the exhibitions curated by the Foundation in Japan that combined poor art with the Transavantgarde in a revolutionary project. Today the foundation carries out activities for the promotion and organization of meetings and conferences on issues related to contemporary culture. In addition, it carries out an editorial activity of drafting texts for exhibition catalogs and books dedicated to artists.
