The Alda Merini House of Arts is located in the heart of Milan and is an art space dedicated to the poet Alda Merini. In fact, the first floor of the building houses the reconstruction of the poet's bedroom. The furniture is authentic as well as the personal effects that were taken from Ripa Ticinese 47's home after his disappearance. Her daughters and a group of friends were eager to keep her memory alive and in 2011 the right space was identified to house “the Alda Merini museum”. The former tobacco shop in Via Magolfa was inaugurated on 21 March 2011, the anniversary of the artist's birth. Among the furnishings and objects on display you can admire two panels of the famous “wall of angels”, a wall originally positioned behind the artist's bed with pen and lipstick notes, drawings and caricatures affixed by his friends. The Casa delle Artiste aims to complete the work of family and friends, adding new objects and documents not yet on display so that the visitor can find more and more testimonies of the life and work of Alda Merini in the space.
