The Bagatti Valsecchi Museum and BUILDING present the new chapter of Transitum, a solo exhibition by the artist Fabrizio Cotognini curated by Marina Dacci, which takes shape within the rooms of the museum house from June 20 to September 14, 2025.
The exhibition, part of a project spread across three venues in the city of Milan - BUILDING GALLERY, Galleria Moshe Tabibnia, and Museo Bagatti Valsecchi - finds in the museum house on via Gesù a particularly evocative chapter. 13 works by Cotognini intertwine with the neorenaissance collection of the historic residence, generating a dense dialogue of visual and conceptual references. The Bagatti Valsecchi Museum interprets the language of Transitum, offering a new and intimately coherent perspective with the artist's poetics.
In particular, the exhibition features 12 bronze microfusions, titled Hybridatio Mundi (2024-2025), depicting small birds. Created with singular technical skill and loaded with symbolic meaning, these works refer to the recurring themes of transformation and metamorphosis, echoing the ongoing exhibitions at BUILDING GALLERY (on display until July 19, 2025) and Galleria Moshe Tabibnia (visible until July 5, 2025).
Further enriching the exhibition path is the presentation of an artist's book, titled How to Explain to Birds that the Sun Belongs to Everyone (2020), revealing the working method of Cotognini, where images and written annotations intertwine seamlessly, providing visitors with an immersive and intimate experience of his creative process.
