The Archive Atelier Pharaildis Van den Broeck is pleased to announce PROJECT ROOM #12, which will open on Monday, September 29, 2025, from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm. On this occasion, the artist Lucia Leuci will present the result of her research on the archive and the history of Pharaildis Van den Broeck starting from the concept of vernacular: an increasingly residual element in our time, but still alive, fluid, capable of transforming and generating new meanings.

The project stems from the creation of a puppet-sculpture, realized by Lucia Leuci in collaboration with the Carlo Colla & Figli Marionette Company. This figure will not only be an element of the exhibition path, but will come to life in the space of the Archive Atelier, animated by literary suggestions drawn from the works of Antonio Moresco.

Alongside this new production, emblematic works of the artist's research and a selection of works by Pharaildis Van den Broeck will find space, specifically chosen to enrich the exhibition path.

The comparison between the two artists reveals a deep harmony in expressive freedom. Through Pharaildis' works, Lucia Leuci explores new horizons, delving into themes that have long been central to her research: the female body and how it is dressed, decorated, nourished, exposed, and made one's own. Her works take shape as spaces where the collective and the private, reality and fiction, precious and waste materials overlap and contaminate each other. In this interweaving of layers, the artist dissolves the usual boundaries between what is considered appropriate, beautiful, and conforming, to embrace those aspects of inner and outer reality that attract and at the same time repel our gaze.
