From September 4 to 28, a exhibition dedicated to the 10 years of activity of the NGO Sea-Watch in the central Mediterranean will be held at the Sala Messina of the Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan, with free admission.

Through a path that relates images, sounds, objects, artistic performances, theater, street art, guests, and debates, we will take stock of what is the central Mediterranean, European migration policies, the criminalization of civil society, and the obstacles to humanitarian action at sea. We will tell a story of commitment, solidarity, and resilience. Of lives saved and lives lost on the world's deadliest border.

Not a celebration, but an invitation to action addressed to all those who reject the idea of a fortified Europe, which violates human rights every day in the waters that surround it.

Among the exhibited works, there will also be a canvas by the street artist Laika 1954 who, in addition to signing the event poster, will participate with a performance at the opening on September 4. The reconstruction of the dynamics at play in the central Mediterranean is also one of the objectives of the research agencies Forensic Architecture, Border Forensic, and Liminal Laboratory, which have contributed to the project with four investigations, presented in the form of videos and interactive platforms.

The exhibition also aims to be a space for information and reflection on the decade spent in the Mediterranean, but also to symbolize a hand reaching out to land, to reunite and recognize ourselves in a resilient community, also through a series of meetings and discussions throughout the month of September. Among the guests participating in the talks that will take place during the entire opening period are Francesca Albanese, Luigi Manconi, Carola Rackete, Ilaria Salis, Daria Bignardi, the collective Gkn, the theatrical company Kepler-452.
