For the Salone del Mobile 2022 and the Milan Design Week , in the week from 7 to 12 June ADI Design Museum will be the stage for events and installations, designed to understand the world of contemporary design also through its historical roots. The protagonist is the relationship between design and different forms of art: music, dance, sculpture… A calendar of events, from concerts to talks, involving the protagonists of Made in Italy. Special partner of the occasion will be Amara, the iconic Sicilian liqueur, which will be consumable and purchasable by visitors at Officina Design Cafè, the ADI Design Museum cafeteria.
During the week of the Exhibition, the opening hours of the museum will be exceptionally extended until 10.00 pm. The exhibitions and events for the Design Week will be accessible free of charge, while the permanent and temporary residential exhibitions will provide for admission according to regular ticket purchase online or on site.
- The house within the house - Tribute to Dino Gavina. A figure of extraordinary importance in the world of design, Compasso d'Oro for his career in 2008, Dino Gavina was not only one of the most revolutionary entrepreneurs in the sector, but also a great visionary. On the occasion of the centenary of his birth, the brand he founded, Paradisoterrestre, pays homage to him with an exhibition project: the house within the house, a 1: 1 reproduction of the “refuge” created by Gavina in his personal home. A "cube" in which to isolate oneself and find oneself, a project linked to the private sphere of Dino Gavina that opens up a reflection on our intimacy. For the first time on display to the public, the museum proposes the setting up of the structure designed inside what was once the residence of the Bolognese entrepreneur.
- Conversations with Emotional Journeys. Personal exhibition of the young Swiss artist Giacomo Braglia: photography, sculpture and wrapping (sculptural forms covered with photographic images) are the expressive techniques used to give life to an unprecedented exploration of the contemporary world. The exhibition reflects in particular on the theme of travel, physical and interior, underlining the need to return to travel to get to know distant continents and cultures. The project is promoted by the Gabriele and Anna Braglia Foundation in collaboration with the Plana Cultural Association.
- NECO - The New Cone . Circularity and green are at the center of the attention of the new generation packaging. An installation curated by Francesco Dondina opens a window on the circular economy in this fundamental sector of contemporary design. Revolutionary and minimalist, NECO takes sustainability into consideration right from the conception of the product, optimizes the overall dimensions, reduces the environmental impact thanks to its shape and the choice of its materials.
- Elica, past and present, looking to the future. The historic company from the Marche region tells the present and the future from the point of view of the producer and the user, through three of its most iconic products, designed by Fabrizio Crisà. Revolutionizing the way of living the kitchen and translating the needs of contemporary life into design solutions: an installation on the reasons for Elica's success.
- Peace & Light, powered by Repower. Designed by Denis Santachiara, winner of two Compassi d'Oro, the innovative lamp that the Repower brand presents at the museum is a tribute to Nikola Tesla. A new technology that allows the idea of a lamp to merge with that of a container and inserts Peace & Light into that range of hybrid lifestyle products that recall the value of sustainability.
- YAAZ. Enjoy being outside. In the square in front of the museum, the Barla and Ova collections will be housed in a circular setting. The furnishings, in shades of green and blue, chromatic archetypes of natural spaces, are arranged in an installation that is characterized by the presence of four large trees inspired by the works of Bruno Munari and the popular tradition of the tree of gifts, a sign auspicious.
