ADI Design Museum
ADI Design Museum is the place dedicated to the Compasso d'Oro collection, a dynamic place dedicated not only to creativity and design culture but also to interaction with the city of Milan and the international scene. The museum is located in Piazza Compasso d'Oro 1, in correspondence with via Ceresio and piazzale Monumentale, and is part of a former industrial area of very high architectural and urban value, the subject of an important action in recent years of urban refitting.
ADI Design Museum will be a narrative and experiential museum, a container open to exchange, which speaks not only to industry insiders. The purpose of ADI - Associazione per il Disegno Industriale and its Foundation, thanks to whose activity and vision such an important place is inaugurated, was precisely to build an inclusive, non-celebratory reality, capable of offering the most engaging as possible but above all in progress, photographing the sense of modernity thanks to the continuous updating of the pieces of the Compasso d'Oro Collection which takes place every two years.
The permanent collection is, in fact, the backbone of an ever-changing narrative structure, which will be accompanied by temporary in-depth exhibitions and cross-cutting initiatives that are always pertinent to the world of design . A cultural center dedicated to contemporaneity and research, which aims to play an active role within the museum and cultural network on a global level. A place also capable of going beyond the traditional boundaries of museums and opening up to the complexity of a globalized reality in all its manifestations, establishing contacts between the world of design and that of fashion, architecture, science, technology and creativity in general, but also of the production system.
