The show

" Hostia. Pier Paolo Pasolini ", exhibition project conceived by the artist Nicola Verlato and curated by Lorenzo Canova and Vittorio Sgarbi, produced and organized by the MetaMorfosi Association in collaboration with the National Museum of Matera and the patronage of the Basilicata Region, of the National Committee for the celebrations of the centenary of the birth of Pier Paolo Pasolini and of the Rome Quadrennial.

Inspired by the tragic death of Pier Paolo Pasolini, the exhibition is conceived as a tribute that is divided into a series of artistic variations, paintings, sculptures, drawings, architectural projects, music and videos made by Nicola Verlato in dialogue with Matera and his territory, a place particularly dear to Pasolini who chose it to film The Gospel According to Matthew in 1964.

The exhibition arrives at Palazzo Lanfranchi on the occasion of the centenary celebrations of the artist's birth, born in Bologna on 5 March 1922 and died in Rome in 1975.

The exhibition catalog is available at Palazzo Lanfranchi.
