The Museo ICO, located at Calle Zorrilla 3 just a few steps from the Paseo del Arte, is a cultural space dedicated to exhibitions of architecture, urban design, and photography. Inaugurated in 1996, it has updated its programming since 2012, focusing on contemporary themes related to the city, buildings, and social landscape.
The exhibition program is mainly structured around three main axes: exhibitions on major figures of modern and contemporary architecture; reviews that explore the role of architecture in the challenges of today's society; and photographic projects that interpret urban space from an artistic and documentary perspective. Among the most frequently featured authors are Breuer, Perrault, Fisac, Navarro Baldeweg, and David Chipperfield.
Admission to the museum is free, and guided tours without reservation are available as well as free tours by appointment. The museum offers educational activities and workshops for children, teenagers, and adults, in an accessible and inclusive context, with resources for people with visual or intellectual disabilities.
Equipped with an elevator, cloakroom, free Wi-Fi, and a bookshop, the Museo ICO is perfectly integrated in the heart of Madrid's historic center, ideal for enlivening a cultural itinerary among modern art, architecture, and photography.
