The first event linked to the Ospiti review will be presented to the public on Saturday 3 June at 4.30 pm in the concert hall of the Tadini Academy.
The house of Count Tadini opens, ideally, offering a cross-section of other houses and other collections, identifying the collector's curiosity and the quality of the proposals as the common thread. This new exhibition, Ospiti , aims to offer the possibility of exhibiting to the public, in easier ways than scheduling an exhibition, one or two works considered significant for the dialogue they can open with the works of the permanent collection of the Tadini Academy Gallery .
Opening the review of the count's "guests" is an exceptional work, the terracotta sketch by Antonio Canova representing Elisa Bonaparte Baciocchi in the guise of the muse Polymnia , modeled in 1812 with a view to creating a portrait. The extraordinary sketch bears witness to the operating methods of Canova, who used to entrust his ideas to three-dimensional models quickly modeled in clay to which he attributed great value.
An opportunity to admire a work that belongs to a private collection, loaned thanks to the availability of the owners, whom we thank for their generosity in sharing the beauty.
All qualities that emerge from the work in question, presented to the public just as Religion , the sketch donated by Canova to the Tadini counts, is exhibited at the great international Canova exhibition. Sketching in Clay (Washington, National Gallery; Chicago, The Art Institute).
The Tadini Academy, "the main Canovian sanctuary in Lombardy after Brera ", according to the happy definition of Fernando Mazzocca, and honors the friendship that bound Count Luigi Tadini and his son Faustino to Antonio Canova by proposing to the public this new, significant testament to his genius.
