The Galerie für Zeitgenössische Kunst Leipzig is a contemporary art museum in Leipzig. Founded in 1990, the museum aims to promote contemporary art through its permanent collection and the organization of numerous temporary exhibitions. The museum's collection ranges from paintings, graphic works, photographs, collages and sculptures to installations, video and media art. The core of the museum's collection consists of part of the collection of the Kulturkreis der deutschen Wirtschaft in the BDI and has been supplemented by private donations, acquisitions by the GfZK support group and permanent loans. Numerous temporary exhibitions and other transversal exhibition projects deal with, among other things, the social role of art and aesthetics, the legacy of the GDR and the art of Eastern and South Eastern Europe in an international context.
