Abbey Pumping Station is the museum of science and technology in Leicester, England.

The Victorian-style building is an old pumping station, designed by architect Stockdale Harrison in 1891 for the Leicester Corporation. Today it houses four compound beam engines built by the Gimson and Company of Leicester.

Abbey Pumping Station was converted into a science and technology museum in 1972 and is now managed by the Leicestershire Museums. The huge beam engines were kept intact and were gradually brought back into operation.

The museum offers the visitor the chance to step back in time and find out how the Victorians of Leicester faced and solved some of the great problems of their time such as keeping the water in the city clean.

Abbey Pumping Station organizes exhibits that encourage discovery of the history of science, industry, transportation, health and hygiene.

The museum also traces the beginnings of motorized transport with a rare and beautiful collection of vintage vehicles including buses, fire engines, a van, a carriage and a narrow gauge railway.
