The CAMEC - Modern and Contemporary Art Center is located in the historic center of the city of La Spezia. The Center is located in a building twenties, formerly the seat of Justice. The Modern and Contemporary Art Center has a very rich and diverse museum collection. The collection is divided into three sections: the COZZANI collection, Battolini and Gulf Prize. COZZANI The collection consists of 1,157 works donated by Giorgio and Ilda COZZANI to the city in 1999. The collection consists mainly of drawings, prints, paintings and 80 sculptures that trace the different artistic styles of the twentieth century. The section Battolini comes from Anna Maria and Ferruccio Battolini to the City. Finally, tie the eponymous national painting prize Premio del Golfo Collection, organized for the first time by Filippo Tommaso Marinetti in 1933. At the end of the Second World War, the demonstration was resumed from 1949 to 1965 and after a long break from 2000 is organized every two years. The Center is a place open to the public and offers guided tours of the museum collection. In addition, temporary exhibitions of contemporary art to promote emerging artists.
