The show

Five new works by Luigi Spazzapan will enrich the collections already present at the Regional Gallery of Contemporary Art dedicated to the great artist from Gradisca d'Isonzo.

Paintings that are part of the "Milva Biolcati - Maurizio Corgnati" collection, donated by Martina Corgnati, art historian and daughter of the great singer and theater actress from Goro and the well-known director, documentary maker and writer from Turin.

These are Pisces on the table (1932), The white shirt (1935 c.), Deposition (with angel) (1945), Cosma and Damiano benedicenti (1951), Santone (evangelista) (1955-56), works that represent in significant way a large part of the artistic and research path of Luigi Spazzapan, who, after the period of activity carried out in the Isonzo area from 1928, moved to Turin and remained there for his entire life.

The donation to the Gallery, managed by ERPAC FVG - Regional Cultural Heritage Body of Friuli Venezia Giulia with the Municipality of Gradisca d'Isonzo and the fundamental support of the Cassa di Risparmio di Gorizia Foundation, will therefore enrich its public cultural heritage and perpetuate the strait bond of Martina Corgnati's parents with one of the greatest exponents of the Italian art scene of the twentieth century. But it will also be a great opportunity to relaunch studies and deepen the figure of Spazzapan, as well as to get to know and enhance those around him and allowed his work to reach current events.
