The Otto Dix Haus is a museum in Gera dedicated to the work of Otto Dix, one of the main figures of the German artistic current of the New Objectivity and a native of the city of Gera. Inaugurated in 1991 on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the artist's birth, the museum evokes the atmosphere of a simple early 20th century council house and displays documents and works that testify to the artist's life and work. The museum's permanent exhibition includes 400 of his drawings, oil paintings and prints. In addition to Dix's works, the museum regularly organizes temporary exhibitions, often photographic.
