Calcagno Agostino was born in Cogoleto (Genoa) in 1949 where he lives and works. Since childhood, he showed great painting and artistic skills. His art is expressed in various forms, from wood sculpture, serigraphy, etching, and finally, he finds in oil painting the essence of maximum artistic expression.
His favorite subjects are his sea, the inhabitants of his charming town, Cogoleto.
His paintings are aimed at capturing and stopping on canvas the glimpses and hidden places of his Cogoleto, his Sea. Even the portraits of his fellow citizens, often faces burnt by the salt air and marked by the years, are one of his favorite themes.
How can we forget the paintings depicting Baci, Michelin, Peo, Franceschin, etc., all figures known to the people of Cogoleto and who for years have represented the "old" fishermen.
Countless art competitions he has participated in, always obtaining certificates and placements in top positions.
