The Archaeological Museum of Finale is located within the spaces of the Monumental Complex of Santa Caterina in Finalborgo.

The museum tour unfolds in 10 rooms that fascinate for the architectural and historical context in which they are set. From the room dedicated to the Finalese, a unique territory for its peculiar naturalistic, environmental, historical, and archaeological values, we move, chronologically, towards the spaces that tell the history and evolution of Man starting from 350,000 years ago. We get to know the Homo heidelbergensis, the Neanderthal Man, and the Homo Sapiens who from Prehistory to the Middle Ages animated our territory with tools, settlements, and burials.

But how did our ancestors live? What did they eat? How did they cook? How did they dress? To answer all these questions... having fun... participate in our workshops in the museum rooms and archaeological sites in the area.

The visits, guided by an archaeologist, to the Cavern of the Arene Candide, a reference site for European Prehistory that has yielded the important burial of the Young Prince, Archaeotrekking and Archeobike routes, visits to medieval and Renaissance monuments and frescoes, complete the offerings of our Museum.
