The artistic duo Vedovamazzei arrives in Fermo: from Sunday 26 February , at the Pinacoteca Civica of Palazzo dei Priori the exhibition " Bell " and the temporary exhibition with some historical works of the artistic duo in dialogue with the permanent collection. The exhibition will be open until 3 June 2023.

The "Bell" sculpture was conceived by Vedovamazzei in close dialogue with the Pinacoteca Civica of Fermo and its art collection, based both on the material reality of the place (site specific), and on the whole context (context specific), i.e. a collection of reference of already existing art of the past, the community from which it is hosted and the current historical moment. This mix is based on the close relationship between past and present history so that they enhance each other.

The project by the Vedovamazzei duo takes its cue from an 18th century bell in Palazzo dei Priori and is now part of the Pinacoteca Civica collection. Poetically, the artists have imagined working on the sound of the town which recalls a collective moment: the bell which invites citizens to moments of reunion, alert to danger, rings in celebration and therefore the bell which materially and figuratively gathers the town community. An object which, in the artists' imagination, is therefore representative of the community in a given historical moment, which characterized an era in which technology was simple and rudimentary.

The winning project of PAC2021 falls within the cultural policy implemented by the Municipality of Fermo which, in collaboration with the Karussell Association, invites nationally and internationally known artists to discover and dialogue with the historical and architectural heritage of the city. The project is carried out in close collaboration with the Civic Museums of Fermo and the manager Maggioli Cultura.
