The Beelden aan Zee Museum is a one-of-a-kind museum in The Hague .

It is in fact the only Dutch museum exclusively dedicated to contemporary international sculpture.

Its founders, Theo and Lida Scholten , began collecting sculptures in the late 1960s and devoted much of their life to acquiring rare works of art .

They laid the foundation for the museum's current collection , which opened in 1994 and now houses nearly two thousand sculptures , reliefs and medals and hosts an ambitious exhibition and educational program.
