The exhibition documents a collaborative activity that has been established since 2004 with the Botticino Restoration School. The School, founded exactly fifty years ago, in 1974, was then located in the historic headquarters of the Monastery of the Trinity in San Gallo di Botticino, situated on a hill overlooking the marble quarries. For many years, the Ala Ponzone Museum, together with the School's Management and Teachers, set up a real laboratory for the maintenance, reordering, and restoration of artifacts mostly stored in the Museum's deposits in a problematic state of conservation. For the first time, many of these materials are exhibited here, allowing visitors to appreciate the work carried out by the School's students. The exhibition will feature medieval tombstones and inscriptions, detached frescoes, ceiling panels, and paintings on wood or canvas from the 14th to the 20th century. Additionally, visitors will be able to admire stone, marble, and terracotta bas-reliefs, marble inlays, wooden artifacts such as a piece of furniture to support the lectern on which the books for choral singing were placed. Among the rare objects are also some wooden cupboards with ivory and bone inlays. Precious clothing items dating back to the first half of the 19th century are also on display, as well as a curious draisine, the ancestor of the bicycle.
