The MAC - Museum of Contemporary Art in Cavalese is located in the historic city center. The museum is housed in the rooms of the historic Palazzo Rizzoli, an ancient noble residence. Even today you can admire the Baroque frescoes, the architectural and decorative elements of the eighteenth century and the design of the windows and portals. The Museum was founded in 2001 with the objective to enhance and preserve the rich collection of contemporary art. The collection consists of works from private donations by Bruno Munari and Giancarlo Baccoli. The museum also has a small collection of works by artists who over the years have been the protagonists of the exhibition projects. The museum hosts solo and group exhibitions temporary exhibitions and cultural events. The goal is the research and the artistic investigation of the Alpine region, strongly characterized by its traditions. The Museum is also a point of reference for teaching and education specifically aimed at schools and families.
