The MAC - Museum of Contemporary Art of Cavalese is located in the historic center of the city. The Museum is housed in the halls of the historic Palazzo Rizzoli, an ancient noble residence. Even today it is possible to admire the Baroque frescoes, the architectural and decorative elements of the eighteenth century and the design of the windows and portals. The Museum was founded in 2001 with the aim of enhancing and preserving the rich collection of contemporary art works. The collection consists of works from private donations by Bruno Munari and Giancarlo Baccoli. The Museum also presents a small group of works by artists who over the years have been the protagonists of the exhibition projects. The Museum hosts temporary group and solo exhibitions and cultural events. The objective is the research and artistic investigation of the Alpine territory, strongly characterized by its traditions. The Museum is also a reference point for teaching and education aimed in particular at schools and families.
