Branda Castiglioni Civic Museum

Once the historic home of Cardinal Branda Castiglioni (1350-1443), today it is an indispensable stop to fully understand the cultural depth of one of the most important figures of the 14th and 15th centuries.

In this building there are the most representative testimonies of his humanist thought, interpreted by the pictorial skills of the Tuscan masters, Masolino da Panicale and Lorenzo di Pietro known as “il Vecchietta”, and Lombard artists.

The descendants of the Cardinal contributed to enrich this heritage, commissioning family portraits and collecting precious objects of furniture that today join the most ancient testimonies.
