The Caserta silk museum is located inside the Monumental Complex of the San Leucio Belvedere. In 1778 King Ferdinand decided to start the manufacture and to create a company for spinning and dyeing silk. Starting from 1910 the commercial activities developed considerably, to the point of producing fabrics also for national and international markets. The reality lasted until 1970, years of crisis in the business activities and its subsequent closure. Only in the early 2000s was the industrial complex reused to create a museum itinerary. Inside the museum it is possible to admire the industrial archeology route. Among the machinery present there are the restored and still functioning looms, the tools and tools for processing. The museum exhibits the various fabrics loved by the nobles and royals of a few centuries ago.
