The Polar Museum, is a museum in Cambridge in England that is part of the group of museums managed by the University of Cambridge.

It is located within the Scott Polar Research Institure and features a variety of objects, artwork, documents and photographs from the Institute's vast polar collections. The Polar Museum hosts collections that house material relating to polar history, exploration, science, art and Arctic cultures.

After a periphery of closure, the museum reopened its doors to the public in 2010 and only after a year, in 2011, was it awarded the Art Fund Museum of the Year award.

Inside the museum, visitors can admire exhibits of Arctic art and artifacts, 19th-century research material for the elusive Northwest Passage, relics of the heroic era of Antarctic exploration, and various documents on contemporary research and politics relating to the polar regions. Among the noteworthy objects should be mentioned

the folding camera used by Robert Falcon Scott at the South Pole; a reindeer leather sleeping bag used by Captain Lawrence Oates and a sextant used for navigation by Captain Frank Worsley on the James Caird.

Also noteworthy is the collection of photographs taken by international experts such as Herbert Ponting, Kenojuak Ashevak, Kathleen Scott, Edward Adrian Wilson, Isobel Wylie Hutchison, Sidney Nolan

Frank Hurley and Pudlo Pudlat.

It is also worth noting the initiative carried out by both the institute and the museum for the creation of a residency program for artists: to find inspiration, each of them will have the opportunity to travel every year to the Antarctic and the Arctic.
