The M Shed, Bristol City Museum, is one of the five museums belonging to the Bristol Museums.
It is located in the historic part of the city, in the Harborside.
The spaces of the museum are those of an old 1950s warehouse, called M Shed since the very beginning.
The museum, interactive par excellence, tells about the city in all its facets and together with it also the people who have lived there over time. The exhibition itinerary covers a very long period of time: from prehistoric times to the 21st century.
At MsHED it is possible to discover the processes that have led the city to assume the appearance it has today, as well as to better understand the community that inhabits it.
At the M Shed there is a rich collection of objects, pieces of art and also a very relevant archive from a historical point of view.
In addition, steamships and trains also belong to the museum, also on display in the outdoor spaces.
The M Shed is a history museum but it is also committed to making the pate community active in this same story: you can admire and explore more than two thousand years of history while also having access to digital material (about 150 films) which is it has been restored and made available so that the city can be better known through various historical periods: the war, the industrial age and engineering development. The museum also organizes local, national and international exhibitions.
