From 11 March to 29 May 2022
On Friday 11 March, at 11.30 am, at the Museum of Santa Giulia in Brescia , the exhibition Toccar con Mano i Longobardi will be inaugurated.
Hosted by the Brescia Musei Foundation - chaired by Francesca Bazoli and directed by Stefano Karadjov - the exhibition is the product of a project of the same name for which the Associazione Italia Langobardorum , management structure of the UNESCO site “Lombards in Italy. Places of power (568-774 AD) ”, obtained from the Ministry of Culture the recognition of its value and a contribution under the law 77/2006“ Measures of protection and use in favor of the Italian UNESCO sites ”.
The exhibition, which will be open to visitors at the Museum of Santa Giulia until 29 May , was created by Italia Langobardorum in collaboration with the Omero State Tactile Museum and aims to raise awareness of the extraordinary nature and complexity of the UNESCO site through a tactile and a differentiated range of use options that facilitate understanding, ensuring an optimal inclusive multisensory experience for everyone. Seven three-dimensional scale models of the monuments representing the Lombard serial site and seven models relating to the areas in which the monuments are located are exhibited, to allow the tactile exploration of their contexts of origin .
To make the path even more accessible will be the audio descriptions to be listened to via NFC and QR code, as well as a catalog in Braille and one in large print . The audio descriptions are due to the interpretation of the actors who are part of the #SIneNOmine theater company of inmates and professional actors , born and raised in the Spoleto prison.
On display are videos dedicated to the monuments illustrated in LIS sign language for the deaf; the press conference will also be translated simultaneously into LIS. Already set up at the Omero state tactile museum in Ancona, at Palazzo Paolo V in Benevento, in the Castle of Monte Sant'Angelo and in the Rocca Albornoziana in Spoleto, seat of the National Museum of the Duchy, Toccar con mano i Lombardi can be visited by purchasing the entrance ticket. of the museum of Santa Giulia and will then be hosted in the other cities that are part of the UNESCO site .
