The Municipality of Brescia and the Brescia Musei Foundation are pleased to present the exhibition DANIELE LIEVI. Secret papers in the Fresco rooms of the Museum of Santa Giulia in Brescia. Fondazione Brescia Musei curated the exhibition, to commemorate the talented artist and set designer on the thirtieth anniversary of his death, presenting a selection of 62 original drawings not strictly related to his theatrical projects, a sort of personal diary which he refers to as "secret papers". The unveiling of his works reveals the imaginative imagination of Daniele Lievi, together with his talent as an artist, cultivated and expressed in a continuous, close confrontation between line, shape and color.

Despite his young age, Daniele Lievi had earned international fame as an extraordinary set designer, having developed, together with his brother Cesare, author and director, an innovative and successful path that brought them to the stage from the original experiment of the Teatro dell'Acqua in his native Gargnano. of the major Italian and European theaters.

The exhibition presents itself as a journey in the sign of Lievi's visual poetry, centered on his drawings preserved as a personal diary, which he dedicated to the search for a field of free experimentation beyond the confines of the theater: an unprecedented space of self-expression with infinite possibility.

Francesca Bazoli, president of the Brescia Musei Foundation comments: "to honor the memory of this artist, son of the Brescia area, the Brescia Musei Foundation exhibits in the spaces of the Santa Giulia Museum, a curated selection of drawings and paintings, part of its extensive archive , which allow you to discover an unprecedented side of the Garda artist, broadening the horizon of knowledge of his production beyond the studies and sketches for the scenographies, which were the most immediate object of the interest of the lovers of Lievi's theatrical work " .
