From 21 October to 21 November 2022
The origins of the State Forestry Corps - today the Forestry, Environmental and Agri-food Unit Command of the Carabinieri - date back to 1822 , when the Forestry Administration was established for the custody and protection of the woods of the Kingdom of Sardinia; the exhibition Men who planted trees was held on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of its foundation .
The exhibition, through photographs, documents, drawings and objects , starting from the history of forest administrations that have affected the Italian territory, and in particular Emilia-Romagna, addresses issues such as the transformation of the landscape, the life and work of the populations of the Apennines, hydraulic-forest planning projects, biodiversity, education and forest culture.
The exhibition tells the stories of “the men who planted trees” communities of men and women who have worked to expand and then protect the forest and natural heritage of our country.
