Return to Biella, UNESCO Creative City for Crafts, for the appointment with “Fatti ad Arte”, the important exhibition market dedicated to the talent and invaluable value of artistic craftsmanship, organized by the homonymous Association and promoted by the two trade associations Confartigianato Biella and CNA Biella. Now in its ninth edition, the event will take place from October 10 to 12, 2025 in the splendid halls of the historic residences of Palazzo La Marmora and Palazzo Ferrero, in the heart of the medieval village of Piazzo.

To anticipate and enrich the event, from September 20 to October 12, 2025, Palazzo Ferrero will host a triptych of exhibitions exploring the themes of creativity, sustainability, and artisanal design, featuring the works of three internationally renowned artists: Francesco Maria Messina, Silvia Levenson, and Claudy Jongstra.

“Nature becomes design” by Francesco Maria Messina is the title of the first exhibition.

His works, created in Tuscany with rare materials and exceptional craftsmanship, go beyond traditional design, combining art and sustainability. His creations reflect a deep commitment to sustainability and the enhancement of cultural heritage, such as Glacies, a series that denounces the fragility of glaciers and the urgency of climate change; Mineralia, a celebration of rare minerals; and Fossilia, which transforms petrified wood into timeless artifacts. The Replastic collection, on the other hand, adopts a "zero waste" philosophy, reusing recycled plastic, while De-Architectura reinterprets Italian monuments in an original way.

“Who in the world am I?” is the question posed by the Argentine artist Silvia Levenson.

The exhibition, curated by Irene Finiguerra, explores the boundary between what is visible and what remains hidden. Through the use of glass as an expressive medium, Levenson tells the silences of childhood, the cracks of love, and the survival strategies in human relationships.

Divided into two sections, Childhood and Love, the exhibition highlights with poetic force and sharp irony the paradoxes of everyday life: the fragility masked by play, the violence hidden behind familiar gestures, the tenderness contaminated by unease. By exploiting the ambiguity of glass, transparent yet sharp, beautiful yet dangerous, the artist transforms domestic objects, icons of intimacy and memory, into powerful symbols. Silvia Levenson thus constructs a world that resembles ours: seemingly ordinary, but inhabited by urgent questions, like the one that gives the title to the central work and the entire exhibition.

Finally, the third exhibition, “Art and Ecology: on the thread of wool” curated by Claudia Buccellato, is a journey to discover the works of Claudy Jongstra. Dutch artist and activist, Claudy Jongstra is known for her thirty-year work that combines art and sustainability. Using mainly wool, she creates works that dialogue with nature and craftsmanship. Since 2001, she has redefined, with an ecological and sustainable approach, the ancient techniques of wool felting and vegetable dyeing, giving life to textile and architectural works of great impact.
