KODE – Stenersen, known as KODE 2: Stenersens samlinger, is one of the four buildings of the KODE network - Museums of Art, Design, and Music in Bergen. Located at Rasmus Meyers allé 3 in the city center, it hosts temporary exhibitions of modern art, graphics, architecture, and contemporary art.
The building was designed by architect Sverre Lied and inaugurated in 1978 to house the donation of Rolf E. Stenersen. The donated collection includes approximately 250 works of international modern art, including key works by Pablo Picasso, Paul Klee, Asger Jorn, Victor Vasarely, Sonia Delaunay, and others. Although some of the works are now visible in itinerant form or in other museums of the network, Stenersen continues to enhance the collection with thematic exhibitions.
Every year, the museum presents between six and eight temporary exhibitions, covering themes of international art, architecture, graphic craftsmanship, and exhibitions from the KODE heritage deposits. Two flexible exhibition spaces on the first floor allow for a dynamic layout suitable for contemporary installations.
