The vessel decorating one of the jugs on display is a rare motif. According to some scholars, it is a Phoenician ship due to the characteristic animal-shaped prow.
The depictions of ships testify to the importance of maritime relations in the ancient Mediterranean of which Cyprus was an important crossroads.
