The Alicante Museum of Contemporary Art is a museum in the Spanish city of Alicante, Spain. The museum, which is located in the Asegurada building, the oldest remaining civil building in the city. It was designed by Spanish artists Sol Madridejos and Juan Carlos Sancho and built in 1865. The building incorporates what used to be the Casa de la Asegurada. Originally built as a granary, it has also served throughout history as a prison, powder warehouse, trade school, and once as a provisional seat of the town hall. The original building is a notable example of Alicante's Baroque architecture. The Museum founded in 1976, today exhibits art of the twentieth century and contemporary and in particular worthy of note are the three permanent collections for a total of eight hundred works of art: the art collection of the twentieth century with the works of Joan Miró Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí, Juan Gris, Julio González and others. The collection collected here, of great historical value, was initially assembled by Eusebio Sempere through painstaking purchases and exchanges. The set of works was then donated to the city in 1976. The Juana Francés Collection, bequeathed by the same artist in 1990, is made up of paintings, sketches and other graphic works by Juana Francés, born in Alicante. The collection was bequeathed to the city of Alicante by the artist, it was acquired on his death in 1990.

The Eusebio Sempere Collection is made up of various works by Eusebio Sempere from gouaches on paper to sculptures. The collection has been acquired by the Municipality since 1997.

Given the amount of works in the museum's collection, not all works are on display but only one third of the Eusebio Sempere collection at a time by rotating the works every three or four months.
