Located at Limmatquai 31, on the ancient bank of the Limmat next to the Wasserkirche in the historic center of Zurich, the Helmhaus Zürich is a reference point for Swiss contemporary art. Its temporary exhibitions - 4-5 each year - represent the national artistic panorama, with a focus on local talents and creatives established in Switzerland.
The exhibition spaces include the spacious cloister on the ground floor, once a court or covered market, now dedicated to emerging art and experimental proposals by young artists.
The exhibitions range from individual shows to thematic and collective projects: every summer, the artistic competition of the city of Zurich is presented, featuring works submitted for overseas studies or scholarships, accompanied by publications that contextualize the artists in the international scene.
