The Eton Museum of Antiquities is a museum of antiquity, belonging to the English university of the same name.
The museum is particularly suitable for families: here it is possible to explore and discover many artifacts from the ancient world, with various opportunities for practical educational activities. The objects exhibited in our Museum of Antiquities cover a vast geographical and chronological framework: from Australia to Afghanistan and from Peru to Babylon. Here are kept tools and weapons dredged from the Thames and the Tiber; shards of Knossos in Crete and the foundations of a guesthouse in Eton. There are also cuneiform tablets from Mesopotamia and Greek pottery collected by Sir William Hamilton in the 18th century. Not to be missed is the breathtaking collection of manual flint axes, some of which date back long before the era of homo sapiens.
