One year after Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the Department of Beauty of the Municipality of Viterbo, led by the Undersecretary for Culture Vittorio Sgarbi, creator and coordinator of the exhibition, in collaboration with the Mart Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Trento e Rovereto presents an exhibition on Maria Prymachenko, a symbolic figure of Ukrainian culture and UNESCO artist in 2009, created with the precious support of Archeoares, in collaboration with the Taras Shevchenko National Museum in Kiev. The creations of the great Ukrainian artist, who inspired Pablo Picasso and Marc Chagall with their expressive power, will be placed in dialogue with the paintings of Bonaria Manca, the painter-shepherd who chose Tuscania as a place of life and art, in the exhibition from title “If I know how to embroider, I will also know how to paint. The endless childhood of Maria Prymachenko and Bonaria Manca”.

The Portico Museum of the Palazzo dei Priori in Viterbo will host 15 works from the Shevchenko National Museum in Kiev, and a selection of works by Bonaria Manca from his House Museum.

Art unites the world in a universal language, which is why the exhibition of Maria Prymachenko's works demonstrates closeness to the Ukrainian people, who have been at war for over a year, and to their deepest traditions, and guarantees the celebration of one of the most important artists of our time.
