From 7 November to 25 January 2026
Jonida Laçi (born 1990, Durrës, Albania) and Luīze Nežberte (born 1998, Riga, Latvia) were awarded the Kunsthalle Wien Prize 2025. The prize was established in 2002 and is organized in collaboration with the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and the University of Applied Arts Vienna. The award aims to support a new generation of artists and annually recognizes outstanding diploma theses by graduates working with different media and thematic areas. Laçi and Nežberte will receive a joint exhibition at Kunsthalle Wien Karlsplatz with an exhibition catalog in German and English, as well as a prize of €3,000 each.
The exhibition presents versions of the diploma exhibitions by Laçi and Nežberte with site-specific adaptations alongside new works. The two different and autonomous practices of the artists are related to each other, highlighting the diverse thematic connections between the two diverging practices in particular.
