The Museum, established in 1893 and housed since 1938 in the late eighteenth-century building of Villa Guiccioli in Monte Berico, together with the annexed Historical Park, theater of the heroic resistance of 1848, constitutes a complex intimately linked to history and civil, moral and cultural heritage of the city and the territory. Its collections represent an interesting testimony of Vicenza and national events ranging from the first Napoleonic campaign in Italy in 1796 to the historical events of the Second World War and the liberation struggle.
