For the third act of the research program linked to the Luigi Ghirri Fund, the Querini Stampalia Foundation presents a project that compares photography, painting and poetry, opening a new opportunity for valorisation between the languages of art.

After the 2015 exhibition “Landscapes of air. Luigi Ghirri and Yona Friedman ”who made the work of the Emilian photographer resonate with the visionary theory of the famous Hungarian architect and that of 2017“ The stones of the sky. Luigi Ghirri and Paolo Icaro "in which a great master of contemporary sculpture was involved, this year the dialogue is three: a visual artist like Giuseppe Caccavale and a great poet like Andrea Zanzotto confront each other with the works of Luigi Ghirri on the great landscape theme, fil rouge that binds all the acts of the Fund.

The languages of photography, poetry and painting come here to compose an unprecedented landscape so unrecognizable and transfigured as to seem the landscape of another world, science fiction.
The title, A Science Fiction Evidence. Luigi Ghirri, Andrea Zanzotto, Giuseppe Caccavale is inspired by
a statement by Andrea Zanzotto: "The same landscape backgrounds of our Giorgione and Tiziano, no longer finding a correspondence in the geographical reality that we are forced to inhabit, have taken on a science fiction evidence" (Andrea Zanzotto, Will it be nature? [2006 ], in Id., Places and landscapes, edited by Matteo Giancotti, Bompiani 2013).

The exhibition, curated by Chiara Bertola and Andrea Cortellessa and promoted by the Querini Stampalia Foundation and by the City of Pieve di Soligo in collaboration with the Zanzotto family on the occasion of the centenary of the birth of Andrea Zanzotto, who passed away 10 years ago, is set up at Querini Stampalia and is open to the public from 14 May to 17 October 2021.

For the occasion, the artist Giuseppe Caccavale was asked to create a grandiose wall installation in the ancient Portego of the Querini Stampalia Library, the 'Paper Mural': an immense and airy watercolor that covers the walls of the great room. The result is an unprecedented variegated and ultramundane landscape in which the artist combines figures, drawings, colors and words.

Cima da Conegliano, Luigi Ghirri, Andrea Zanzotto, Paul Celan are the authors that Caccavale chooses to make resonate in space, starting from the particularly fertile creative ground that unites the roots of their languages. The result is an environment full of colors, shapes, words capable of producing amazement, synthesis and depth.
