From 22 April to 25 February 2024
Imagine Venice, where four artists found themselves immersed in the maximum expression of fragile and eternal beauty. An inevitable source of inspiration, Venice has led artists to conceive their reflections on the notion of Ego: Ego as self, first person singular. Io as Ich, mediator between conscious and unconscious. Ego as thinking subject. Ego becomes EGO for the artist as hero, creative hand, the one who decides on Beauty.
What has become of the artist's role in the contemporary world? Is its power comparable to an indisputable omnipotence? Is it called upon to present the oneness of the self through endless repetition? Or is its role, rather, to unsettle the viewer, representing the exact opposite of what we call Classical Beauty?
Carles Valverde , Didier Guillon, Vangelis Kyris and Anatoli Georgiev questioned these questions, in which Art and Beauty appear intertwined in the new all-male exhibition at Palazzo Bonvicini.
