The Albanian studio wins the competition, born to reflect on the architecture of the entrance space, with a project that convinced the jury for its ability to create the environment of a timeless threshold. From 18 May to 26 November 2023, the conceptual models of the first ten selected projects will be exhibited at the Querini Stampalia Foundation, with an installation curated by AMDL CIRCLE and Michele De Lucchi.
The first edition of DoorScape , the international competition conceived by Oikos Venezia and the Querini Stampalia Foundation of Venice, proclaimed the winner of the Il Portale project conceived by Setion Branko and Arlinda Lalaj Branko, Branko Office for Architecture .
The choice of a classic shape such as the arch, the ability to create multiple spaces and the use of different colors and materials proposed by the studio convinced the Jury, made up of AMDL CIRCLE and Michele De Lucchi as president, Donatella Calabi , city historian, Alessandra Chemollo , photographer, Emanuele Coccia , philosopher, Luciano Giubbilei , landscape and garden designer and Eugenia Morpurgo , researcher designer.
The competition, which saw the involvement of partner companies such as Adler , Iseo and Laminan , was born to give value to the entrance space in its many meanings, starting a hitherto unedited reflection in this research area. The Jury, which represented different skills and sensibilities (architecture, landscape, photography, history of cities, philosophy and design), selected, evaluating the various aspects, the first ten projects in the competition, which will be on display to the public from 18 May to 26 November 2023 at the Querini Stampalia Foundation in DoorScape | The Space Beyond the Threshold , with installation by AMDL CIRCLE and Michele De Lucchi.
