From 9 May to 13 October 2019
A traveler who contemplates the infinite horizon, the invisible that escapes from the gaze: here is our Venetian merchant, an indomitable traveler ready to challenge dangers and fate to get to the most precious and rare raw materials.
"Carnet de voyage" is an illustrated olfactory journey that allows the visitor to discover the origin of The Merchant of Venice perfumes in a dimension suspended between fantasy and reality. The drawings of Guido Fuga, a great friend and collaborator of Hugo Pratt, the fragrant tales of Joan Giacomin and an interactive and multisensory exhibition of spices and mysterious raw materials, allow you to travel with your nose up, immersed in an indefinite time where every stage corresponds to an olfactory dream of discoveries, loves, deceptions, challenges, legends, superstitions in which the absolute protagonist is that invisible for which over the centuries the Venetian merchants have sailed the seas towards the most distant destinations: the Perfume.
And here the Venetian perfume tradition contained in The Merchant of Venice fragrances, joining the fairy-tale character of the protagonist's imaginary journey, offers a contemporary interpretation of a thousand-year-old Venetian history of which enchantment and magic can still make us dream.
